ProTerra MRV 1.1
ProTerra measurement, reporting and verification. Ready to run.
The current published version of the ProTerra Monitoring and Verification Standard, version 1.1, is supported today and ships configured. Growers and processors capture in the field, satellite evidence checks the numbers, and auditors get a record they can trust.
What ships configured for ProTerra MRV 1.1.
Real counts from the ProTerra Foundation publishing organisation in Haloglide. Live on day one, not built over months.

Value chain, modelled across 10 steps
Plus 10 data categories, 12 automations and 8 lot statuses running from draft through to certified.
ProTerra programmes ask growers and processors for consistent, comparable, verifiable data. In practice that data arrives as spreadsheets, photographs and PDFs in a slightly different shape from every supplier, and the programme team spends its time normalising rather than improving performance.
Haloglide turns the standard itself into the working system. The tasks, the required fields, the units, the photographs and the coordinates are all defined up front, so what a grower submits is already assessable. Every registered plot is checked continuously against independent satellite and science data, so reported figures have something to be measured against.
Out of the box
The programme, already modelled.
Preconfigured value chain
The ProTerra chain, from farm and plot registration through production, processing and onward supply, ships modelled in Haloglide. You start by inviting suppliers, not by designing a data model.
Capture tasks written to the standard
Each requirement becomes a task with the exact fields, units, evidence and coordinates it needs. Nothing arrives incomplete, and nothing arrives in a format a reviewer has to interpret.
Satellite land insights on every plot
Registered boundaries are checked against independent satellite and science sources covering forest cover change, land use, soil and protected area overlap, so reported land practice can be cross checked without a site visit.
Anomaly flags for reviewers
Where a submission disagrees with the independent record, it is flagged for attention rather than buried in a folder. Reviewers spend their time on the cases that need judgement.
Provenance statements for buyers
Verified performance becomes a buyer facing statement tied to a specific lot or consignment, in the buyer's language, with scoped access you can refresh or withdraw at any time.
Publisher reference content built in
The reference material behind the standard travels with the tasks, so the person filling in the form can see what the requirement actually means at the moment they answer it.
How it runs
From field record to verified claim.
- 01
Register farms, plots and sites
Boundaries are captured with coordinates and stored as part of the permanent record, not as a file attached to an email.
- 02
Capture against the standard
Growers and processors complete scheme tasks on a phone, with required evidence enforced at the point of capture.
- 03
Check against independent data
Satellite land insights run continuously on every plot and attach to the record, surfacing anomalies for review.
- 04
Review and verify
Programme teams and verifiers assess structured, comparable submissions with the supporting evidence already attached.
- 05
Prove it to the market
Verified lots carry a scannable identity and a provenance statement buyers and regulators can check for themselves.
The standard itself
What version 1.1 asks for.
The ProTerra Monitoring and Verification Standard sets out a systematic way to assess and verify an organisation's management system and to support due diligence reporting across agricultural commodity supply chains. Version 1.1 is the version we support today.
A management system that can be assessed
The standard is applied to how an organisation actually runs sourcing, not to a single shipment. Policies, responsibilities, risk assessment and corrective action all have to be evidenced, which is exactly the kind of recurring, structured record Haloglide is built to hold.
Free from deforestation and conversion
Sourcing has to be shown to be legal and free from deforestation and land use conversion. Registered plot boundaries plus continuous satellite land insights give that claim something independent behind it rather than a supplier declaration alone.
Human rights and social responsibility
Labour and human rights requirements sit alongside the environmental ones, so social evidence is captured through the same tasks and held to the same standard of completeness.
Due diligence reporting through the chain
The standard supports due diligence reporting to downstream customers, and has been benchmarked by the ProTerra Foundation against the EU deforestation regulation. The same underlying records feed both your ProTerra evidence and your European market access evidence.
Version references follow the ProTerra Foundation's own published material. Always check the Foundation's current documentation for the definitive requirements.
Who it is for
Built for everyone in the programme.
Programme owners
Roll the standard out to new suppliers as a configuration exercise, with consistent data coming back from day one.
Certification and verification bodies
Assess complete, comparable submissions, and prioritise site time by risk rather than by calendar.
Producers and exporters
Answer once, in the field, and reuse the same record for buyers, for market access and for the next audit.

Certification companies
Scheme specific capture, anomaly detection and risk based audit triage.
Food and agriculture
